Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the move is part of routine police operations carried out during festive seasons or large-scale events.

“Whenever there are festive seasons such as the New Year, security controls are enhanced,” he told reporters after an event here.

He added that this year being Visit Malaysia Year also forms part of these routine security operations.

“Therefore, the public need not worry. Insya-Allah, security issues are being monitored and, if necessary, action will be taken,” he said.
