According to DSP Phillaur Bharat Masih, the robbery took place when Lakhbir Singh, son of Bakshish Singh and a resident of Ramewal village, was returning home from Nurmahal along with his wife Harvinder Kaur on a motorcycle. During the journey, three unidentified assailants allegedly intercepted the couple, threatened them with a sickle and snatched Rs 3,500 in cash before fleeing from the spot.
