Police hunt two suspects in Shah Alam Proton Wira theft

Shah Alam police are tracking two men after a Proton Wira was stolen from a premises, with CCTV footage capturing the suspects using another vehicle.

SHAH ALAM: Police are actively tracking two men believed to be involved in the theft of a Proton Wira from a premises in Section 33 here.

Shah Alam District Police chief ACP Ramsay Embol said a report was received at 3.12 am on Tuesday from the vehicle’s owner, a local man in his 20s.

The complainant had parked the car at the location on March 21 before travelling to his hometown in Tumpat, Kelantan. He discovered the vehicle missing at about 1.14 am on March 24 upon his return.

CCTV footage from the scene showed two male suspects believed to have used another vehicle to steal the car. Embol noted there was no security guard present at the premises at the time.

Efforts to trace and apprehend the suspects are ongoing by the Shah Alam District Criminal Investigation Division. The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code for vehicle theft.

Upon conviction, the offence provides for imprisonment of up to seven years, a fine, or both.
