PASIG City Police Station operatives arrested a 37-year-old truck driver facing various criminal offenses in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Regions 3 and 4.
Pasig City Police chief Col. Hendrix Mangaldan said the suspect had a standing arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, Third Judicial Region, Branch 72, Olongapo City, Zambales, for murder. No bail was recommended for the suspect.
Before the operation, a complainant sought police assistance from Rosario Police Sub-Station (SS7) led by Lt. Rimeo Tanguilan, officer-in-charge at the Border Control Point.
Operatives recovered an Isuzu closed van previously reported stolen, several driver's licenses, and vehicle license plates from the suspect.
The Eastern District Highway Patrol Team and the Masantol Municipal Police Station, Pampanga found that the suspect is involved in carjacking incidents in NCR and Regions 3 and 4.
Further investigation revealed that the arrested suspect’s modus operandi involves applying for a position as a truck or delivery driver to gain the trust of prospective victims and obtain their vehicles. He subsequently sold these vehicles online by joining various buy-and-sell groups while using multiple aliases to evade authorities.
The public was urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to help prevent vehicle-related crimes and support the maintenance of peace and order.
