KOTA KINABALU: The Police are fully prepared to ensure the 17th Sabah Election proceeds smoothly and safely across the State.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun said 8,900 officers and personnel, including 1,200 from Bukit Aman and the Sarawak Contingent, will be deployed throughout the election period.
He said the force has held several coordination meetings with the Election Commission, Public Works Department, and other agencies to streamline logistics and security arrangements.
Jauteh said preparations also take into account the Northeast Monsoon season, with police ready to respond to any weather-related disruptions during the polls.
He assured that overall security in Sabah remains stable despite heightened political activity, with police continuously monitoring campaign events to maintain public order.
