PUTRAJAYA – Police are investigating an incident involving a man suspected of causing a disturbance and provoking members of the public during the National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya on Monday.

Putrajaya District police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidi Sham Mohamed said that four police reports have been received regarding the event.

"Police also detected a viral two-minute-and 18-second video showing a local man believed to be acting provocatively.

"The man is believed to have barged into and pushed members of the public who were waiting for the entrance gates to the seating area to open, resulting in shoving and causing several individuals to fall," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

He added the incident is believed to have occurred at around 5am while the crowd was gathering to wait for the gates to the public seating area to open.

Aidi Sham added that police are currently tracking down the individual involved and urge anyone with information to step forward to assist with the investigation.
