PETALING JAYA: Police have launched an investigation into a TikTok account misusing the name and image of the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah.
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that the Selangor royal office had lodged a report yesterday and that the account was fake.
“The public is advised not to simply create social media accounts involving the royal institution, to prevent irresponsible individuals from misusing the personal images and videos of royal family members,” he said in a statement today.
Hussein said investigations are being carried out under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) 1998.
