SSP (Jalandhar Rural) Harvinder Singh Virk informed that complaints regarding lost mobile phones had been registered at Sanjh Kendras and uploaded on Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. Through this portal, the traceability of lost mobile phones is monitored and after detailed data analysis, the information is shared with the concerned police stations and CIA Staff, thereby facilitating the recovery process.

During this special drive, under the supervision of Vineet Ahlawat, Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Sub-Inspector Dalwinder Singh, Incharge District Sanjh Kendra and Inspector Pushap Bali, Incharge CIA Staff, police teams worked tirelessly day and night to recover 120 mobile phones worth approximately Rs 25 lakhs.

He further stated that with this latest recovery, the total number of recovered mobile phones has now reached 419. The successful return of these valuable mobile phones has further strengthened public trust and confidence in Jalandhar Rural Police.

Virk emphasised that mobile phones have become an essential part of everyday life, containing personal information, photographs, banking details and other important data. He appealed to the public that in case any mobile phone is lost or stolen, the matter should immediately be reported to the police.
