Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan secretary-general Loretto S. Padua Jr has lodged a police report over a fake poster circulating on media platforms regarding an alleged solidarity rally for party leader Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
The poster falsely claimed that a "Solidarity Gathering for Shafie" would be held at Padang Merdeka in Kota Kinabalu at 2pm on Aug 2.
Loretto clarified that the party had never planned or organised such an event, cautioning that the false news was misleading the public and damaging the image of Warisan and its leadership.
He also advised the public, particularly those living outside Kota Kinabalu, not to travel to the state capital for the non-existent gathering.
Addressing the ongoing appeal involving Shafie, Loretto stated that the matter should be left to proceed through the proper legal process.
