Light Rail Transit (LRT) users on the Kelana Jaya Line experienced another delay yesterday evening (April 3), this time due to an accident. A woman was reported to have fallen onto the rail tracks at LRT Abdullah Hukum station, forcing operators to immediately suspend train services.

Crowds quickly built up following the temporary suspension, and the station was evacuated as firefighters carried out rescue efforts and removed the victim from the tracks. The woman sustained injuries to her body and forehead and was immediately taken to hospital for further treatment.

Videos of the crowds and images of the victim have since circulated on social media, with many users speculating about the cause of the fall. Initial investigations found that the woman had slipped while waiting for the LRT.

The PDRM, however, later clarified the circumstances surrounding the incident involving the 39‑year‑old victim

According to a China Press report, Brickfields District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook said the woman told police she felt dizzy before falling onto the tracks. She provided the account while being transported to hospital.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) received a distress call regarding the incident at 6:19 PM and arrived at the scene five minutes later, where rescuers found the victim trapped beneath a train.

Meanwhile, Rapid Rail said in a statement that train services had returned to normal following the completion of rescue operations.
