KOTA MARUDU: Police are trying to trace a female suspect in connection with a pickpocketing incident at a restaurant on July 20.

CCTV clips showing the actions of the female suspect, believed to be in her 40s, taking and spending the victim's money, have gone viral on social media since Friday.

On Saturday, a Facebook user, believed to be the victim's child, posted receipts and proofs of payment made by the suspect using the victim's bank card.

According to the post, the bank card was used for purchases amounting to over RM900 at several shops and an estimated RM1,800 in cash.

Zairolnizal said the case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code.
