Police seize over 1kg of meth in Temerloh drug bust

Temerloh police arrested a man and seized methamphetamine worth over RM112,000 in a raid under Op Tapis, with the suspect remanded for investigation.

TEMERLOH: Police arrested a 42-year-old local man and seized more than one kilogramme of methamphetamine in a raid early yesterday morning.

The operation was conducted by the Temerloh district Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division team at about 5 am in Charuk Puting.

Temerloh district police chief ACP Mohd Nasyim Bahrun said the raid was executed under Op Tapis based on received information.

Police confiscated four pink plastic packets containing 1,024.63 grammes of the suspected drugs.

They also seized a Honda HRV vehicle, with the total estimated seizure value at RM112,252.50.

A check of the Criminal Records Management System revealed the suspect had several past records for drug abuse offences.

“The man has also been remanded for five days at the Temerloh IPD lockup to assist in investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” Mohd Nasyim said.
