Police sent new information after investigation into David Sullivan

  • Essex Police have received new information regarding West Ham co-owner David Sullivan following allegations of sexually exploitative behaviour dating back to the 1980s, and inquiries are now underway.
  • A two-year investigation by The Times and BBC accused Mr Sullivan of pressuring young or aspiring models in their late teens or early 20s while he was boss of the Daily Sport and Sunday Sport newspapers.
  • Mr Sullivan, 77, who recently stepped down as West Ham chairman, has "categorically denied" all of the claims made against him.
  • The Independent Football Regulator (IFR) is in contact with West Ham United to assess Mr Sullivan's suitability as a co-owner in light of the allegations.
  • The Metropolitan Police are also investigating a separate report concerning the alleged taking of indecent images and sexual exploitation in London and Essex in the 1980s, related to one alleged victim.
