
- An initial IOPC investigation found no evidence of police tactical contact or stinger deployment prior to a fatal crash on the A66 near Middlesbrough.
- Two police officers, Pc Matthew Blades and Pc Tom Clough, were killed when their armed response vehicle was struck by a VW Passat travelling the wrong way on 22 August.
- Five young men inside the Passat were also pronounced dead at the scene following the collision.
- Cleveland Police Chief Constable Victoria Fuller paid tribute to the officers.
- She described them as brave, committed professionals who put the public first.
