Police have yet to record a statement from the driver of a BYD Seal that was involved in a six-vehicle crash which led to the death of a five-year-old girl on Saturday (Oct 10).
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa told China Press that police began tracking down the driver after the accident crash.

They eventually managed to locate the driver the next day after receiving information from his father. By that time, he had already been admitted to a private hospital in Damansara for a concussion.
Will closely monitor driver
Zamzuri said police tried to record a statement from the driver, but were unable to do so as the latter was too weak and was given medication by a doctor to help him rest.
“The driver remains in the hospital under observation and the investigating officer will continue to monitor his condition.
“An investigation report will be completed as soon as possible before it’s submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for a decision on the next course of action,” he added.

Footage of the crash showed the BYD Seal first colliding with a motorcyclist before slamming into the rear of a Perodua Bezza along Jalan Kuching.
Due to the impact, the Bezza spun into the right lane and crashed into a Nissan Almera, a Toyota Alphard and a Perodua Myvi.
Unfortunately, a five-year-old girl, who was seated in the backseat of the Bezza, lost her life.
