Global collectible brand Pop Mart opened its third official store in the Philippines on Feb. 13 at SM North EDSA, drawing families, celebrities and collectors.
The 177-square-meter store, located on Level 3 of The Block at SM North EDSA, marks the company’s first permanent location in Quezon City and its third official branch in the country, following earlier openings at SM Megamall and SM Aura.
Spotted at the opening were actress Marian Rivera, actress Janice de Belen with daughters Inah and Moira Estrada, singer Martin Nievera, actor Rocco Nacino and his pregnant wife, former volleyball player Melissa Gohing, and singer Jed Madela, among others.
A devoted collector of designer toys and charms such as Labubu, Crybaby and Skullpanda, Rivera admitted she has already lost track of how many pieces she owns.
“I honestly don’t know how many I have anymore, and I don’t want to count,” she said with a laugh.
“We turned part of the kids’ playground into a display area, so that’s where my Pop Mart collection is.”
Rivera added that her daughter Zia shares her love for collecting, while her son has different interests.
“Yes, Zia enjoys collecting. But Sixto is more Gen Z. He’s all about Pokémon,” she noted.
Guests browsed shelves lined with the brand’s signature blind box collectibles, which conceal the specific figure inside until opened. The store features a bright, open layout designed to allow shoppers to explore different character series at their own pace.
Timed a day before Valentine’s Day, the opening highlighted Twinkle Twinkle, a star-themed character that has gained attention online in recent months. The character’s soft, pastel design was prominently displayed at the entrance and along featured shelves.
Company representatives said the Quezon City branch aims to make the brand more accessible to collectors in northern Metro Manila. The expansion forms part of Pop Mart’s continued growth in the Philippines.
The company also announced that its Mall of Asia pop-up store is set to reopen in the coming days with a refreshed design, catering to customers in the southern part of the metro.
