Post-mortem confirms multiple injuries from a fall caused the death of a 48-year-old man in the Desa ParkCity condominium tragedy
KUALA LUMPUR: The post-mortem on the male suspect believed to have fallen from a condominium in Desa ParkCity, Kepong, on Thursday was completed this evening at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said the findings revealed that the 48-year-old man’s cause of death was multiple injuries consistent with a fall from a height.
“Both families are currently making arrangements to claim the remains for burial,” he said in a brief statement tonight.
Earlier, the media reported that the man’s wife and two children, who were found dead inside a unit at the same condominium, had died from stab wounds.
Fadil was reported as saying that post-mortems conducted yesterday on the seven-year-old boy and nine-year-old girl found their cause of death to be stab wounds to the neck.
Meanwhile, the post-mortem on the 47-year-old wife concluded that she died from sharp-force trauma to the neck and chest.
Bernama reported on Friday that the tragedy, which claimed the lives of four family members, is believed to have stemmed from the wife’s alleged involvement in a love scam.
The motive came to light after police found a note left by the husband, expressing regret over having to bear losses and debts amounting to RM260,000 as a result of the scam.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, as well as for sudden death.
