Kota Kinabalu: Sabah needs more tourism centres with sea and river fishing facilities to attract domestic and foreign tourists, said Kong Soon Choi.
The Chairman of Sabah Fisheries and Fishermen Development Corporation (Ko-Nelayan) said half of the State is surrounded by waters and a unique water ecosystem.
“There is vast potential in sea and river fishing tourism that can be developed to encourage the influx of tourists to the State, especially the east coast,” he said.
Citing Beluran, Kinabatangan and Paitan, Kong said these areas could be developed with tourism facilities characterised by lobster farming.
