
MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) has announced scheduled power interruptions in parts of Metro Manila, Laguna and Batangas from April 2 to April 4 to facilitate maintenance, testing and line works.
Power interruption in Caloocan City is scheduled from 11 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. the next day.
The outage will affect areas under the Sitio Gitna 63SIG – Bagbaguin 63YZ and Sitio Gitna 61SIG – Kaybiga 62YX circuits, including the Metrodragon Steel Corporation located within the MGM Industrial Compound.
Meralco said the activity was for preventive maintenance and testing works inside the CIPP substation.
Portions of Barangay Barangka and Industrial Valley in Marikina City will experience power interruptions between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and again from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday. These are parts of A. Bonifacio Avenue, Marcos Highway and nearby streets, including residential areas such as Ateneo Housing Phases I and II and Urban Bliss Barangka.
A separate interruption from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. will hit portions of Monte Vista Subdivision in Barangay Industrial Valley.
Meralco said the Marikina outages were due to the replacement of facilities along Marcos Highway.
In Cabuyao City, Laguna, electricity service will be interrupted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday in parts of Light Industry and Science Park I (LISP I) in Barangay Diezmo.
The affected areas include portions of Main Avenue and nearby streets such as Park Drive, Fursion Drive and Energy Street, as the activity is for line reconstruction works.
Meanwhile, in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas, a power interruption will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, affecting Tann Philippines Inc. within the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Barangay Sta. Anastacia.
The interruption is for maintenance works in the industrial park.
In Sta. Rosa City, Laguna, electricity service will be temporarily cut off between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The affected area covers the entire Circuit LIIP 61WM – LNPI – Pulong Sta. Cruz 62PLS, including facilities of Lucky Nine Properties Inc. along Sta. Rosa–Tagaytay Road in Purok 2, Barangay Pulong Sta. Cruz.
Meralco said the interruption was necessary to carry out maintenance works along Sta. Rosa–Tagaytay Road, particularly within Barangay Pulong Sta. Cruz in Sta. Rosa City and parts of Biñan City.
Residents and businesses in affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions to minimize inconvenience during the scheduled outages.
