Medical officers from Kota Tinggi Hospital later confirmed the woman’s death.

Yusof added that police have detained the victim’s husband, a foreign national in his 30s, who was present at their rented home.

Further investigations by forensic officers led to the discovery of a stone mortar suspected to be the weapon.

The victim’s body has been sent to the Forensic Department of Sultan Ismail Hospital for a post-mortem.

Yusof stated that police do not rule out jealousy as a possible motive for the incident.

An application for a seven-day remand against the suspect will be presented at the Kota Tinggi Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
