Premier League 2026/27 fixtures – live: Opening matches and schedule for every club announced

Champions Arsenal will host promoted Coventry City on the opening night of the Premier League season after the full season schedule was revealed.

Mikel Arteta's side claimed a long-awaited title last year and will be seeking a strong start to their defence as they take on Frank Lampard's Coventry, back in the Premier League for the first time since suffering relegation in 2001. It is a demanding start for the Championship winners, who also face Manchester City in the opening weeks.

Fellow promoted clubs Ipswich and Hull begin with games against Sunderland and Manchester United respectively as they get ready for a return to the top flight. New Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola meanwhile faces a relatively early reunion with Bournemouth, while Xabi Alonso begins his Chelsea tenure with a short Monday night trip to Fulham – also set to be under new management after the departure of Marco Silva.

Five Premier League 2026/27 games that could decide the title race

10:35 , Harry Latham-Coyle

As a new Premier League season edges closer, with fixtures released on Friday, much attention will turn to the title race.

At the top of the table, Arsenal will aim to retain the title after ending a 22-year Premier League trophy drought, and they will face uncertain challenges from Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea, given all three clubs will have new coaches at the helm.

In a post-Pep Guardiola era at Man City, it’s still unclear who will manage the team next term, while Andoni Iraola has replaced Arne Slot at Liverpool, and Xabi Alonso comes in for Liam Rosenior at Chelsea.

Here are five games that could be decisive:

Boxing Day fixtures back?

09:50 , Harry Latham-Coyle

It looks likely that there will be a fuller slate of Boxing Day fixtures to enjoy in 2026 after the Premier League faced criticism last season. The English top flight blamed Uefa’s squeezing of the calendar for a schedule that left only Manchester United and Newcastle in action on a traditional day of festive football – the schedule will be fully confirmed in the coming months but the Premier League have already suggested that with 26 December this year falling on a Saturday, fans can expect more games to enjoy.
