Premier League pair consider move for Liam Delap after Chelsea exile

Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest are thought to be among a number of clubs considering a move for Chelsea’s Liam Delap.

Delap has lost the No 9 shirt to fellow striker Joao Pedro and is part of a group in Xabi Alonso’s squad that is training separately amid a possible move away this summer.

The possible availability of the 23-year-old forward has alerted a number of clubs, including former side Ipswich – who sold him to Chelsea for £30m last year after their relegation from the Premier League.

Delap scored just once in the top flight during his first campaign at Stamford Bridge, and has fallen further down the forward pecking order under new manager Alonso.

Fellow striker Nicolas Jackson is also available having spent last season on loan with Bayern Munich.

Atletico Madrid are thought to be looking at the Senegal international with Julian Alvarez’s future at the club uncertain.
