Tiger Woods’ DUI arrest has consumed the golfing news landscape over the past few days.

And now Donald Trump has provided yet another statement on the matter.

The golfing world was stunned when Woods rolled his car for the second time in five years and now he has a lot of work to do if he is to live a normal life, let alone play competitively again.

Woods’ current situation is an incredibly big deal, so big, in fact, that the U.S. President has weighed in with his feelings on the matter.

The 15-time major champion is married to Trump’s former daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump, and he was awarded with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019 by the American President.

Woods is said to be practicing as normal despite his recent DUI arrest, with The Masters now just nine days away.

However, he really does have more on his plate than worrying about playing at Augusta National next week.

President Donald Trump makes new Tiger Woods statement

Trump spoke out immediately after Woods’ DUI arrest on Friday.

The President of The United States praised Woods for being an ‘amazing person’ but highlighted the fact that he clearly has problems.

Now Trump has spoken again about Woods following his DUI arrest during an exclusive interview with The New York Post.

“I have spoke with him, President Trump admitted.

“I think he’s doing great, he’s doing good. He tested negative for alcohol, as you know, and he is under a tremendous physical pressure from his various ailments, you know, the back and the leg.

“He lives a life of pain. He has a lot of pain. He’s an amazing guy. He’s an amazing athlete. He does have pain. He doesn’t have an alcohol problem, but he does have pain.”

Crucially, nobody was harmed after the incident on Friday.

However, now is the time for difficult conversations to be had regarding what Woods does next.

The onus is on Tiger Woods to make things right

It won’t be easy for Tiger, but only he has the power to change things.

The 50-year-old clearly lives in pain the majority of the time. Most people do not realize just how strong the temptation must be for him to ease said pain with prescription medication.

However, Woods is clearly struggling with the hold the meds have over him right now.

And there is absolutely no excuse for endangering lives by driving under the influence of any mind-altering substance.

Woods must get professional help. Nobody wants to see this happen to one of the greatest sportsmen of all time.

It’s very important to note that addiction is an illness. Woods is not a bad person; I just hope he has people around him who genuinely care and want to help him.

Thankfully for Tiger Woods, President Donald Trump is obviously very much in his corner.

Now the onus is on the 50-year-old to go out and make a concerted effort to seek help.
