  • The Puerto Rican fighter sustained a subdural haematoma after receiving repeated illegal punches to the back of his head during a 2015 bout against Terrel Williams, subsequently falling into a 221-day coma.
  • Following his emergence from the coma, Colon remained in a vegetative state and required computer assistance to communicate, receiving full-time care from his family until his death.
  • Prior to his tragic 2015 contest, Colon was an undefeated professional prospect who held a record of 16 wins, including 13 knockouts.
