Whilst doing my weekend walkabout around Cyberjaya, I noticed Merdeka Carnival is back in full swing at Prima Avenue! I could feel the feeling of joy for Malaysia's National, also known as Merdeka Day, which is associated with patriotism, unity & celebration of the nation's independence. All Malaysians express this joy through various activities, including raising the Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag), organizing Merdeka walk/run, children fashion show, chess tournament, and etc. It is a time for reflection on the nation's history to foster a sense of multiracial harmony and a celebration of its progress and identity.
In conjunction with Merdeka month celebrations, Prima Weekend Market at Prima 11, Cyberjaya staged the “vibrant fabrics show & clothing market". It is happening on 23 August, looking for the most stylish, creative, and patriotic outfits, both traditional and modern, and offers prizes for the top winners. I am amazed with the strong participation from youth especially students in preparation for Merdeka Carnival especially with the vibrant fabrics exhibition. (https://prima-avenue.com.my)
When my long-time friend from Negara Brunei Darussalam, Tuan Zainal Tinggal who's a successful human resource development (HRD) consultant & trainer enquired National Day attractions to see in Cyberjaya, spontaneously I recommended him to visit the vibrant fabrics show at Prima Avenue. I said, “Over there, you can enjoy Malaysian delicious food at Padi House or kopitiam delights such as its Signature Nasi Lemak, Char Kway Teow & many more.”
Since Tuan Zainal is also coffee lover, I suggested him to taste the new hidden gem in Cyberjaya, the fresh hot brew coffee & the Matcha Aceh Gayo from Sumatra. I can still remember the unforgettable great breakfast with specialty Brunei's rural brew coffee in Bandar Seri Begawan. During my tenure with Petronas Carigali's Baram Delta Operations at Miri, Sarawak in 1990-92, I frequently visited Bandar to enjoy Brunei national dish, Ambuyat & Nasi Katok.
