Prime Video has released the first-look images for Young Sherlock, its upcoming original series that reimagines the early life of one of literature’s most iconic detectives. Starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After) as a young Sherlock Holmes, the series is directed and executive produced by Guy Ritchie and is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in 2026.

Described as an irreverent, action-driven mystery, the series explores the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary character, long before he becomes the famed resident of Baker Street. The series will stream in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Infused with the wit, energy and visual flair associated with Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes feature films, the series follows a disgraced and unpolished young Holmes who becomes entangled in a murder investigation that threatens his freedom. His first-ever case soon spirals into a globe-trotting conspiracy, setting him on a path that will shape his destiny.
Where It Begins

Set primarily in 1870s Oxford, with adventures unfolding beyond England, Young Sherlock reveals the early exploits of an anarchic adolescent whose sharp intellect and instinctive brilliance are still taking shape. The series charts the formative experiences that begin to mould Holmes into the master detective he is destined to become.
Previously announced cast members include Dónal Finn (The Wheel of Time), Zine Tseng (3 Body Problem), Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale), Natascha McElhone (Halo), Max Irons (Condor) and Colin Firth (The King’s Speech).
The series is written and executive produced by showrunner Matthew Parkhill. Executive producers also include Dhana Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton and Colin Wilson, with Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson serving as co-executive producers. Physical production is led by Motive Pictures.
With its bold reimagining of a literary classic and a high-profile creative team at the helm, Young Sherlock promises a fresh take on the origins of one of fiction’s most enduring characters when it arrives on Prime Video in 2026.
