Prince Harry opens up about ‘disconnection’ he felt during fatherhood

  • The Duke of Sussex spoke about his experience of therapy and fatherhood at a Movember event in Melbourne, Australia.
  • He revealed he sought therapy to address past issues before having children, aiming to be the best version of himself for them.
  • Harry described children as an “upgrade” and discussed the “disconnection” he felt in early fatherhood “because my wife was the one creating life, and I was there to witness it”.
  • He shared advice from his UK therapist about being aware of one's feelings after a baby is born, emphasising fatherhood as a transformational role.
  • During his visit, Harry also participated in a kickabout with Australian rules footballers and later attended a Last Post Ceremony at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.
