Princess Anne’s joy as she opens new Queen Elizabeth II garden

  • Princess Anne officially opened a new garden in Regent’s Park dedicated to the memory of Queen Elizabeth II on what would have been her 100th birthday.
  • She chuckled upon discovering a secret corgi tribute discreetly incorporated into a skylight design by blacksmiths Ian Kebby and Ian Thackray.
  • The two-acre Queen Elizabeth II Garden, built on a former horticultural nursery, will officially welcome visitors from 27 April.
  • Designed with biodiversity in mind, the garden features wildflower meadows, native hedgerows, and trees, with a path reflecting aspects of the late Queen’s life, including her favourite flower, lily of the valley.
  • Princess Anne spoke about the historical importance of gardens and noted that the late monarch loved them because her dogs needed to go out.
