
VOTER turnout for the 16th Johor State Election (SEC) reached 48.91 per cent as of 2 pm today.
The Election Commission (EC) announced that 1,312,152 out of 2,682,642 registered voters had fulfilled their responsibilities.
For the State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Semarang recorded the highest voter turnout at 57.8 per cent, followed by DUN Sedili at 56.6 per cent and DUN Kahang at 56 per cent.
DUN Simpang Jeram recorded the lowest voter turnout at 43 per cent, followed by DUN Bentayan at 40.4 per cent and DUN Penggaram at 39.6 per cent.
In the 2022 Johor general election, the voter turnout as of 2 pm was 39.71 per cent, involving 1,022,412 out of 2,574,835 registered voters.
Meanwhile, the Pulau Besar polling station here was the first to close today.
The station, which has one channel and 32 voters, closed at 11 am this morning, after being open for three hours for the voting process.
The polling stations at Pulau Aur and Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pulau Pemanggil closed at 12 pm, while Pulau Sibu and SK Pulau Tinggi closed at 2 pm.
All polling stations on the five islands involved 690 registered voters.
The voting process is scheduled to last until 6 pm this evening. – July 11, 2026
