THE Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said that the government housing program for the poor was a top drawer of public satisfaction based on the results of the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

Housing Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said that the administration’s housing programs for the poor improved by seven points, earning a “good” net satisfaction rating of +45 amid the continued rollout of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s expanded “Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino” (4PH) program.

He added that the results of the SWS national survey for the first quarter of 2026 revealed that the housing sector’s rating has increased from the moderate +38 in November 2025 to +45, making it one of the administration’s programs that posted huge gains during the period.

Aliling said it reflects the government’s continuing efforts to expand housing opportunities for more Filipino families through the implementation of the expanded 4PH.

”We welcome the positive feedback from our fellow Filipinos. This motivates us more to continue improving our programs to accelerate the delivery of housing units across the country in compliance with the instruction of President Marcos Jr.,” he added.

Since his appointment in May 2025, Aliling has worked to expand the administration’s flagship housing program into a more people-centric approach. From a single modality, which was the vertical or condominium-type housing, he included rental housing, horizontal housing developments and revived the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program.

Last week, the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor conferred the Bayani ng Urban Poor Award 2026 on Aliling in recognition of his contributions to advancing the welfare of urban poor communities and promoting sustainable human settlements, the DHSUD said.

Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo cited the national housing program as an aggressive initiative for homeless and underserved families.
