Prohibited items — from live ammunition to firearm magazines — seized in airports nationwide

MANILA, Philippines — The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) has reported that several prohibited items were intercepted, including live ammunition and firearm magazines, in airports nationwide.

At the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, screening officers held an American passenger bound for San Francisco after a live bullet was found in his carry-on bag Other items seized at the same terminal were:

-Two pieces of ammunition from a Tagbilaran-bound passenger.

- A piece of ammunition from a traveler bound for Kalibo.

- An empty shell from a passenger bound for Roxas City.

- An amulet made from an ammunition shell from a Taipei-bound traveler.

At NAIA Terminal 2, another empty shell was confiscated from a passenger on flight Z2-329 to Tacloban.

The OTS also reported seizing prohibited items from passengers at airports outside of NAIA.

In Cotabato, a magazine loaded with four live bullets was seized, while an empty shell was discovered hidden in a carry-on bag in Dipolog.

Additionally, a Manila-bound passenger from Roxas City was found with two firearm magazines. Although the items were confiscated, authorities allowed all involved passengers to board their flights for humanitarian reasons.
