PSG captain nearly left without Champions League medal after UEFA blunder

PSG captain Marquinhos was almost left without a Champions League winners medal following his side’s victory against Arsenal, after a blunder by UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin.

As the players went to collect their honours, cameras caught the moment Ceferin handed a medal to forward Ousmane Dembele and immediately began ushering him to the stage for the trophy lift - before being reminded Marquinhos had been missed.

A red-faced Ceferin quickly dashed back off stage to hand over a medal to the PSG captain.

The win made it back-to-back Champions League victories for the French side, who beat Inter in a thumping 5-0 win last season.
