The small bakery Sai Wan Bakehouse in Pattaya, Thailand, has gone viral for its unconventional “pubic hair croissant” (locally called the “Mor Oi Croissant”). The flaky, cream-filled pastry is topped with finely shredded Fat Choy seaweed, creating an uncanny resemblance to strands of hair resting on a bed of fresh cream.

While the appearance has left some social media users utterly appalled, it has successfully captured the internet’s attention. Content creators and curious foodies are flocking to the Soi Khao Talo shop to film taste tests and snap photos. According to customer reports, the seaweed adds a subtle savory note that balances out the sweetness of the cream.
The bizarre creation wasn’t initially a permanent menu item; it originated as a custom joke cake requested by a customer looking to prank a friend. Because the concept was so memorable, the baking studio adapted it into a standalone croissant. Priced around THB 65–70 (~16 HKD), the pubic hair croissant has quickly cemented itself as one of the country’s most unexpected and viral food sensations of the year.
