Kota Kinabalu: Motoring enthusiasts must always prioritise discipline, road safety, and respect for other road users rather than treating public roads as racing circuits, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
His speech was delivered by State Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk James Ratib at the Youth Motoring Programme (Sabah Moto Day 9.0) at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex grounds.
Hajiji said any interest or talent in racing should instead be channelled through legitimate, safe, and properly organised platforms.
He noted that the event has grown into a regional gathering, attracting participants from across Sabah, Sarawak, peninsula, and Brunei.
He added that the State Government remains committed to providing healthy, positive spaces for young people to develop their potential, showcase their talents, and stay free from negative influences.
