GOMBAK: Public universities will begin offering undergraduate tuition fee waivers to top Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) students starting this year, as part of a new sponsorship initiative that will also benefit the 18 students who were recognised today as the top scorers in the 2025 STPM examination.
Speaking at the STPM Top Students, MUET and Malay Language Proficiency Certificate for Foreign Nationals awards ceremony, she said the initiative reflects the commitment of public universities to support high-achieving STPM candidates and improve access to higher education.
“I extend my deepest appreciation to all public universities for this commitment. If possible, we hope to expand this further in the future.
“If this year it is one, next year we hope it can be five if possible.
“InshaAllah, all these are efforts to continuously encourage our students and ensure that their access to education can be continued at degree level,” she said.
Fadhlina also expressed appreciation to parents for their continued support and encouragement, saying their role is crucial in shaping students’ success.
She added that STPM remains one of the strongest pathways for students to pursue higher education and enter the pre-university education system, offering strong opportunities for academic progression.
