Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will visit Nirmal Kutiya at Seechewal village in Shahkot on Thursday to pay homage at the 38th memorial event of Sant Avtar Singh along with MP Balbir Singh Seechewal.
Senior district officials, including Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia, SSP Harvinder Singh Virk and SDM Shahkot Aditya Gupta today visited the venue to review the preparations for the visit.
The CM had attended the annual memorial event on two earlier occasions too.
A kavi darbar was organised and renowned poets presented their compositions. Through their poetry, the speakers highlighted how Sant Avtar Singhji spiritually connected the region with Gurbani and inspired people towards selfless service.
Seechewal expressed concern over the rapidly changing global climate conditions, affecting the entire world.
He further explained that the impacts of global warming, climate change and the El Niño phenomenon are becoming increasingly visible.
During El Niño, the waters of the Pacific Ocean become warmer than usual, disrupting global wind patterns and causing extreme heat during periods when rainfall is normally expected.
Such weather conditions, he said, are becoming difficult to endure.
