Having cycled more than 2,10,000 kilometres across India and abroad, the cyclist continues to inspire youth with his fitness, discipline and sporting spirit even at the age of 62. Recognising his contribution, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has extended his congratulations and best wishes to international endurance cyclist for his remarkable achievements in cycling at national and international levels.

In a special message sent to the cyclist, who is also Brand Ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Mission in Hoshiarpur and a state awardee, the Governor praised Chauhan’s extraordinary dedication, mental strength and physical endurance.

In his message, Governor Kataria stated that the records created by Chauhan as an international endurance cyclist were exceptional and inspiring. He noted that Chauhan’s determination and relentless spirit had proved that limitations exist only in the mind.

The Governor lauded Chauhan’s ability to undertake cycling journeys covering thousands of kilometres in all weather conditions despite lack of sleep and physical exhaustion. He described Chauhan as a source of inspiration for cyclists around the world.

“You have not only achieved personal milestones, but also brought pride to India and Hoshiarpur at the global level. Your contribution to cycling is invaluable,” the Governor said in his congratulatory message. He also expressed confidence that Chauhan would continue to overcome new challenges in the future and inspire the younger generation through his passion and perseverance.

The congratulatory letter sent by the Punjab Governor was formally handed over to Balraj by former Member of Parliament Avinash Rai Khanna.

Khanna said, “Balraj Singh Chauhan has become a symbol of determination and discipline for the youth. His achievements in endurance cycling have brought pride not only to Hoshiarpur, but to the entire Punjab.”

Responding to the message, Chauhan thanked the Punjab Governor and said the appreciation had further boosted his morale and motivation to work harder in the coming years.

He also expressed gratitude to for bringing his achievements to the notice of the Governor.

Notably, Chauhan was honoured with a state award during the Independence Day celebrations last year for his outstanding contributions and achievements in cycling.
