In Abohar, the situation outside the polling station in ward no. 45 turned volatile after a group of individuals, armed with sharp-edged weapons, attacked a trader (BJP supporter).
In the melee, Rakesh Setia sustained severe injuries and was admitted to the government hospital for treatment, where doctors referred him to Faridkot. Following this, the crowd attacked the AAP’s tent.
In another incident, a massive commotion erupted in New Shakya Nagar over bogus voting. Workers of AAP and SAD attacked each other with bricks, resulting in injuries to five individuals, including a woman. SAD leaders said Karam Chand and Sanjay Kumar sustained head injuries, while Seema Devi, who intervened to defend them, was also severely beaten.
