The Punjab state government has indeed given a new directive from today that office timings will be from 7:30 in the morning to 1:30 in the afternoon. This step has been taken in an attempt to save electricity. Most of the government offices in Ludhiana, however, remained empty, and employees did not arrive on time.
Though, there is still not much awareness among people that the timings have changed for government offices to 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM. However, lights and fans were still found running, even though the employees were not present.
Many of the employees in MC offices, DC office, GLADA office, PPCB office etc failed to make it at 7:30 AM as it was the “first day”. The officers assured that things will be streamlined from tomorrow onwards and action will be taken against those found absent.
