MANILA, Philippines — Mayor Joy Belmonte on Sunday said that the local government now accepts applications for the Quezon City Scholarship Program (QCSP) for school year 2026-2027.
Belmonte said eligible ‘QCitizens’ who are holders of QCitizen ID and who are not scholars of another local government may submit their scholarship applications through the QC eServices website until June 5.
“In QC, we believe that education remains the strongest tool we can give our youth to achieve their dreams. Through the Quezon City Scholarship Program, we are not only supporting them financially, we are also shaping the nation’s future leaders and changemakers,” she said.
Last year, the city government had 9,377 scholars under the program.
College students comprised the largest number of beneficiaries at 93.84 percent, followed by vocational education students at 2.69 percent, senior high school students at 2.64 percent, and postgraduate scholars at 0.83 percent. Among tertiary-level scholars, 88.93 percent were from low-income families and marginalized sectors.
Since 2019, the QCSP has supported a total of 50,165 students. A total of 15,108 have graduated and are now pursuing careers in various fields including education, engineering, business, healthcare, and information technology.
“Every QC scholar represents a family given hope and a brighter future through education. As we continue expanding this program, we remain committed to ensuring that no deserving student is left behind because of financial limitations,” Belmonte said.
