Seri Iskandar Fire and Rescue Station chief Muhammad Asyraf Mat Isa said a team of 12 firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 2.04am.

He said there were two women aged 18 and 50 in the house.

"Fire officers cut the windows of the house using special equipment to remove the two victims," ​​he said when contacted by Sinar here.

He said both victims were given initial treatment for smoke inhalation and no other injuries were reported.

"Thirty per cent of the house was destroyed and the fire was completely extinguished at 4.15am," he said.

He added the real cause and loss are still under investigation.
