Kota Kinabalu: Quranic education plays a vital role in moulding knowledgeable, principled, and responsible individuals in line with Sabah's human capital development agenda, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
His speech was delivered by Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Isnin Aliasnih at the official opening of the Maahad Tahfiz Sulaimaniyyah (MTS) Sabah and Sarawak Regional Office building at Taman Sulaman, here, on Sunday.
Hajiji said state development must encompass personal character, knowledge, and religious steadfastness rather than solely relying on physical and economic indicators.
He called for tahfiz education to adopt a balanced curriculum encompassing academics, technology, vocational skills, and entrepreneurship alongside Quranic memorisation to ensure wider career pathways for graduates.
The Chief Minister also urged tahfiz centres to uphold professional management and strict safety standards while instilling values of moderation, tolerance, and mutual respect within Sabah’s diverse society.
