Former Manchester City and Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell is trialling with MLS club New England Revolution.
Frank Dell'Apa of The Boston Globe has confirmed Rodwell, as well as ex-Manchester United defender Alexander Buttner, are being assessed by the Revolution.
Rodwell was one of the brightest young talents in England after breaking through the ranks at Everton, but injuries have derailed his career. Now 28, he played for Championship club Blackburn Rovers last season.
30-year-old Buttner spent two seasons at United before stops at Dynamo Moscow and Vitesse.
