Manchester United are getting a clear run at Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
The Daily Express says United have moved into pole position to sign Fernandes after Liverpool and Tottenham distanced themselves from the Portuguese playmaker.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign with Sporting last season, as he guided them to two domestic trophies as their captain before helping his country win the first-ever Nations League.
His performances have caught the eye of England's top clubs but it is the Red Devils who now look most likely to sign him this window.
Fernandes has four years left on his current deal with the Portuguese side and could set back potential suitors 70million.
