• Her death comes 12 months after her son and co-contestant Sam died in a car crash at the age of 24.
• The pair competed together in the second series of the BBC travel challenge in 2020, travelling across South America.
• Her family described the Manchester physiotherapist as an intrepid adventurer who was brave, kind, witty and endlessly loving.
• Tributes have been paid by the BBC and production team Studio Lambert, with a fundraiser set up for Diabetes UK in her memory.
