  • Racing driver Juha Miettinen, 66, died following a seven-car collision during the ADAC 24h Nurburgring Qualifiers in Germany.
  • Seven competitors were involved in the serious incident, which led to race control immediately halting the competition.
  • Despite rapid intervention from emergency services, Miettinen could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the medical centre after unsuccessful resuscitation attempts.
  • The other six drivers involved were taken for precautionary examinations and are not in a life-threatening condition.
  • The race was suspended for Saturday evening, with a minute's silence for Miettinen when competition resumed on Sunday.
