Arman Tsarukyan has said that Georgio Poullas has not paid up on his pre-fight bet.

This past Saturday, the UFC lightweight number one contender returned to competition when he competed on RAF06 against Georgio Poullas.

And now just a few days removed from his brawl, Arman Tsarukyan has explained what sparked it, as well as claiming that Poullas has not paid up on his pre-fight bet.

‘Ahalkalakets’ has spoken before about how he struggles to keep his emotions in check, something that has landed him in trouble more than once.

Those lapses have had real consequences for his standing in the UFC, and he is still feeling the effects of them.

In this instance, Tsarukyan thinks Poullas went into their wrestling match with a clear plan to get under his skin and ignore the usual protocols.

“His game plan was to just fight during the fight and make hype, he wanted to do that because the actual wrestling, natural wrestlers never do that because it’s disrespectful and the referee can catch you out,” he said on The Ariel Helwani Show.

“He punched me two times, one time he got a warning… Yeah (he went in there just to make a moment), he knew he had to stop wrestling because he was losing, second of all because he cannot beat me.”

There was also supposed to be a $10,000 side bet between them ahead of their match. But despite getting his hand raised, Tsarukyan says he has not received anything from Poullas.

The 29-year-old UFC star stated: “If he lose, he had to pay me because we had a (bet), whoever wins gets money. It was supposed to be, he came and said, ‘Let’s do, if I win you pay me $50,000, if you win, you get $25,000’, I said, ‘Are you stupid or what?’

“I told him we have different pay so let’s stay at $10,000 and we shook hands but I haven’t seen my money yet.”

Arman Tsarukyan expected back in action soon

While he waits for his next UFC move, the Armenian is keeping himself busy by taking fights outside the promotion.

‘Ahalkalakets’ is already lined up to headline an event for Hype FC in Brazil just 10 days from now, where he will face Poullas again.
