Kuala Lumpur police confirm the 2026 Rain Rave Music Festival closing was peaceful with 30,000 visitors and one arrest

KUALA LUMPUR: The climax of the 2026 Rain Rave Music Festival, which was attended by about 30,000 visitors at Bukit Bintang here last night, took place in a safe and controlled manner without any untoward incident.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said on the overall, the level of security, public order and traffic flow throughout the closing event was good.

However, he said the police arrested a 28-year-old local woman who was found in possession of a knife.

“The suspect will be brought to court this morning for remand,” he said at a press conference after the festival’s closing ceremony.

Fadil said that apart from the woman, police also made several preventive arrests throughout the festival involving individuals who were seen as suspicious.

“However, so far none of them have tested positive for drugs or were involved in any other crime,” he said.

The festival, which features various entertainment performances including local artists and international DJs, was held in conjunction with the Labour Day celebration, as part of the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign.

To ensure the smooth running of the three-day, Fadil said a total of 500 officers and police personnel were deployed every night, involving members from the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters (IPK), six districts in the capital as well as assistance from Bukit Aman.
