
RANAU: The quick action of the Fire Department here succeeded in saving a house from being destroyed by fire on Monday.
Head of BBP Ranau Station, PPgB Ridwan bin Mohd Taib, said the incident happened at Pasir Putih Ranau housing area.
Following a distress call, a group of nine personnel led by Ridwan as the Operation Commander, rushed to the location.
“Arriving at the scene which is located 1km from the station, the single-storey terraced house was 5pc damaged when the machinery arrived.

According to Ridwan, no victims were reported involved.
“An inspection was carried out to ensure there was no other danger, and the operation ended at 12.40pm,” he said.
He reiterated the call to be more cautious of fire incidents, especially during the windy season.
“The public needs to prioritise safety first because fire in the open area could easily become uncontrollable and could turn disastrous with the risk of losing valuables.
“If there is any open burning that cannot be avoided, it must be monitored and controlled, in order to prevent the spread of fire to nearby areas,” he said.
