
Kota Kinabalu: Ranau Golf and Country Club captured the team gross title at the TYT Birthday Inter-Club Golf Tournament which concluded on Saturday (September 14) at Sabah Golf and Country Club.
The tournament based on top three best score saw Duin Etin (78), Gary Doupin (78), Hillary Tan (80) and Victor Jarius (81) finishing with 236, three ahead of Kudat Golf Club comprising Abdul Azim Aziz (74), Radin Yusof (81), Matthew Thomas (84) and Liau Kim Chun (85), while in third place was Sabah Golf and Country Club with 240 (Derrick Kong - 76, Kenesan Narayan - 81, Peter Tan - 83, Nick Voon - 90).
In the team nett category, Sandakan Golf and Country Club (Mustafa Moh Kasim-71, Jamil Mohd Sapi - 72, Sumpa Bada - 72, Mohammad Utoh - 78) with 240 took the title.
Second place went to Sabah Golf and Country Club (Ng Loong Fah - 68, Alvin Chow - 72, Alfred Wong - 77) with 217 and in third place was Tambunan Golf Club (Cyprinus Amir - 71, Larry Tuka - 72, Hj Julian Gugau - 75, Freddy Jinus - 81) with 218.

Read more In the individual event, Kudat Golf Club’s Abdul Azim Aziz (74) took the men’s title and in second place was Derrick Kong (76) from Sabah Golf and Country Club with Sandakan Golf and Country Club’s Safaruddin Abadin (77) in third.
The top three places in the individual nett category went to Mount Kinabalu Golf Club’s Kaprin @ Mohd Imran (65), Sabah Golf and Country Club’s Ng Loong Fah (68) and Cyprinus Amir (71) from Tambunan Golf Club.
The bull’s eye winners were Datuk Mohd Sofian and Ranjeet Singh.
The invitees category was held on Sunday and the winner was Affandi Awang Besar (40) followed by Pailin Jani (38 ocb) and Richie Ang (38 ocb), while the bull’s eye winners were Richie Ang, Dato Sri Saharan, Christopher Robin, Raymond Lai, Mustafa Mohd Kassim, Datuk Victor and Affandi Awang Besar.
Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin was present on the second day to present the invitees’ prizes.
